The Perfect Artisan Finish with French Wash in Christchurch
If you love the soft, time-worn look of aged plaster, a French wash is the perfect artisan finish.
Creating depth through colour and texture
Crafted by layering a specialized tinted glaze over a complementary base colour, Jackie creates this beautiful effect using Resene base colours and Resene Paint Effects Medium. The secret to a stunning finish lies in choosing the perfect colour combination to enhance the depth and movement of the walls. The application of the tinted glaze is a skill Jackie has developed over time and will ensure a seamless, natural looking result. It has to be worked quickly and confidently, so there are no ‘tide’ marks or overlaps.

A timeless and bespoke finish
Jackie takes inspiration for the colours from nature and beautifully aged European plastered walls to create a timeless and truly bespoke finish. Used thoughtfully, atmosphere and depth is created which elevates both homes and commercial environments.
Jackie has now teamed up with her daughter, Sammy (a very talented creator and Graphic Designer) to achieve these finishes and they have commercial painters on board that can handle any larger jobs. Jackie and Sammy are happy to work with Architects, Specifiers and home owners. A quote can be arranged with a sample of the finish colours and if required, Jackie can also provide guidance to help the owner or painter to achieve this, themselves.
Choosing your colour combination
For inspiration and a place to start, Jackie and Sammy have created a stunning range of colour combinations in a free downloadable brochure.
Because colour selection is critical to enhancing the glaze, these harmonizing tones have been carefully selected to ensure the final space feels beautifully calming, cozy, and uplifting. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need more information.
